“ In the depths of discomfort, where shadows linger and truths lie dormant, I find the essence of my artistry. Life’s complexities, its jagged edges and raw emotions, serve as my canvas. I navigate the turbulent waters of existence, daring to confront the unsettling realities that define our humanity. Through provocative imagery and unapologetic narratives, I challenge the status quo, inviting viewers to question their perceptions and assumptions.
As a multidisciplinary artist, I engage in contemporary dance, art installation, performance, mixed media art, and sound design. My work delves into the nuanced and often overlooked aspects of human existence. I explore the hidden narratives and fleeting moments that define our experiences, uncovering the unspoken truths and raw emotions beneath the surface. My creative process involves a meticulous exploration of the human condition, focusing on the subtle, yet powerful, gestures and decisions that shape our lives. Each stroke of repetition echoes the rhythm of existence, exploring the infinite possibilities within the mundane.
Vulnerability is an elusive terrain for me, one I rarely traverse outside of my art. It is through the language of creation that I find the courage to reveal the fragile depths of my being. My practice becomes a stage where my vulnerabilities are laid bare, forming a rare bridge to connect with others. This paradox—of needing art to express what I cannot otherwise show—underscores the urgency and sincerity in my work. In each piece, there is an effort to unravel the tension between the desire for connection and the resistance to exposure, turning the act of creation into a delicate performance of self-revelation.
In my art, I confront societal norms of acceptability and perfection, particularly those affecting women. I challenge the unrealistic beauty standards imposed by society, delving into the taboo realms of femininity and sexuality. By doing that, I aim to redefine these constructs, fostering understanding and empowerment.
Coincidence, like a thread woven into the fabric of fate, guides my creative journey. I embrace the unexpected, allowing chance encounters to shape my artistic vision. In the chaos of randomness, I discover meaning, each coincidence a whisper of truth amidst the noise of existence.
Ultimately, my art is a reflection of the human experience, a mirror held up to society’s flaws and insecurities. Through introspection and vulnerability, we confront our shadows, embracing the beauty found within our imperfections. It is in the darkness of discomfort that we discover the light of self-awareness, transcending the limitations of societal norms to find our true essence. By focusing on the transient and often overlooked moments, I aim to create a space for introspection and connection, encouraging viewers to embrace the full spectrum of the human experience. ”
